Castelfalfi: A Tuscan Paradise of Luxury

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to take a solo trip before I had to be in London for work. Desperately needing to disconnect and relax, I knew I wanted three things... 1) I wouldn't need to leave the resort, 2) peaceful environment and 3) one of my favorite places in the world, Italy. After hours of reading reviews and diving down the Reddit rabbit hole, I settled on Castelfalfi.

Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, Castelfalfi Resort is a dream destination that effortlessly combines old-world charm with modern luxury. Whether you’re seeking a romantic escape, a family retreat, or simply a serene getaway, this stunning resort offers a quintessential Italian experience. Here’s why Castelfalfi deserves a top spot on your travel list.

Environment: Tuscany’s Timeless Beauty

As you approach Castelfalfi, you’re greeted by panoramic views of vineyards, olive groves, and cypress-lined roads. The resort is located within a restored medieval village. The moment you step onto the cobblestone streets, it feels as though you’ve traveled back in time.

Service: Warm and Attentive

From the moment I arrived, the staff at Castelfalfi went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Whether arranging a private vineyard tour or making sure you had a cup of tea, their passion for hospitality was evident. Having an education in hospitality and working in the industry for years, I have such a great appreciation for top-tier service. The team went above and beyond with genuine care.

Accommodation: Where Elegance Meets Comfort

Castelfalfi boasts a range of accommodations, from chic hotel rooms at to luxurious private villas. Each option is thoughtfully designed, blending traditional Tuscan aesthetics with modern amenities. My suite featured expansive views of the countryside, a plush king bed, and a spa-like bathroom—a haven of relaxation after a day of exploring. Featuring turn down service every day, it was such a welcoming room to come back to every day.

Culinary: Heart of your Experience

Food is at the heart of the Castelfalfi experience. The resort’s restaurants celebrate Tuscany’s rich culinary heritage with a modern twist. Visiting during off season, only a few of the restaurants were open however, I never once felt bored with the limited options! The menus were to die for.

  • Olivina is the main restaurant located right in the hotel. Featuring an array of Italian classics, specials each day, and some unique Indian inspired dishes in honor of the owners heritage – you truly cannot go wrong with any dish. From the homemade pasta to the perfect focaccia bread with their homemade olive oil, each meal was better than the last.

  • La Rocca di Castelfalfi offers fine dining with an emphasis on local ingredients. Serving a coursed, seasonal meal, it was such a fun culinary adventure to try all the unique creations from the chef.

  • Bar Ecru is the main bar with an indoor/outdoor lounge area. I highly recommend grabbing lunch here for a more casual bite with a drink, looking out over the beautiful Tuscan view.

Tip! I recommend you do their organic wine tasting one of the first days so you can order your favorite throughout the whole trip at their restaurants!

Activities: Something for Everyone

Golf: The 27-hole Castelfalfi Golf Club is one of the finest in Italy, offering breathtaking views with every swing.

Adventure: Hiking, biking, and horse riding trails allow you to immerse yourself in the Tuscan landscape.

Wellness: The spa provides rejuvenating treatments using local products, along with a serene infinity pool.

Culture: The resort organizes truffle hunting tours, cooking classes, wine tasting and more - perfect for those wanting to take a piece of Tuscany home with them.

Top Three Tips

  • I recommend flying into Pisa or Florence and booking a private car service from the airport to the resort.

  • Book activities in advance! The resort will send you the schedule and list of available activities prior to your stay. They are first come, first serve.

  • If you are traveling during peak season, book early!! However, don’t shy away from off season. I couldn’t have had a better experience, and I went in November. Just expect the resort to be a little quieter!

Castelfalfi isn’t just a resort; it’s an experience—a journey into the heart of Tuscany. With its idyllic setting, luxurious amenities, and commitment to showcasing the best of Italian culture, it’s a destination you’ll want to revisit time and time again.

Whether you’re sipping a glass of Sangiovese at sunset or marveling at the Tuscan stars, Castelfalfi is unforgettable!
